Advanced audit technology

Most audits are unguided.

Teams sample or review broadly because they lack visibility into where the issues actually sit.

We show you precisely where to look — so your audit finds what matters instead of searching in the dark.

What we do

We show you where to audit — for up to 20x more effective results.

We combine large-scale data analysis, advanced AI simulations, and confidential industry case studies to identify the specific people, locations, vendors or transactions most likely to contain the problems that matter. This turns broad, unfocused audit work into a targeted assessment that finds issues standard audits miss, uses far fewer resources, and gives executives clearer insight into the business.

Sounds too good to be true? See the results below.

What happens when you know where to look

01

Payroll overtime fraud

Situation

A large organisation needed to audit overtime across thousands of staff and hundreds of thousands of claims each year. Reviewing everything was impossible, and random sampling was unlikely to find the real problems.

Outcome

We analysed the transaction data and identified the dozen employees most likely to be submitting false overtime claims. A focused audit of those individuals confirmed the theft. Stopping the false claims saved the business hundreds of thousands of dollars a year.

Without us, the audit doesn't find the risk, the losses continue, and they are never found.

02

Hospital gas leakage

Situation

A hospital group needed to check for nitrous oxide leaks across dozens of sites. The gas is colourless and odourless, so random checks were impractical — inspecting everywhere was not possible, and spot checks were unlikely to find the real leaks.

Outcome

We analysed their data and ranked the locations with the highest likelihood of leakage. They audited only a small number of sites and found the problems.

Without us, it's a hugely expensive undertaking to audit thousands of kilometres of gas infrastructure across dozens of sites. Resolved for less than $8,000.

03

Vendor fraud and collusion

Situation

An organisation was concerned about vendor fraud and possible collusion between internal staff and external suppliers. A full review of every supplier was impractical, with no way to know where to start.

Outcome

We reviewed several years of procurement transactions and identified a small number of vendors that were systematically gaming the system. That allowed a targeted investigation instead of a full review of all suppliers.

Without us, vendors continue to exploit the procurement rules, and the business writes more rules without identifying the problem vendors.

04

Staff turnover drivers

Situation

An organisation knew staff turnover was costly, but not what was actually driving it. Retention effort therefore had to be applied generically across the whole organisation.

Outcome

We analysed workforce data to identify the specific patterns and locations most strongly linked to high turnover. Leadership could then direct retention effort at the causes that mattered instead of applying generic solutions everywhere.

Without us, staff turnover isn't resolved, and more policies are tried that don't fix the problem.

05

Forestry contractor damage

Situation

A large forestry operation needed to identify where contractor behaviour was causing measurable damage across hundreds of thousands of hectares. A broad physical search of the estate was not feasible.

Outcome

We used available data to pinpoint the specific areas most affected. The client could then inspect those locations directly instead of attempting an impossible broad search.

Without us, the problem contractors aren't identified, the damage continues, and decisive evidence of who is causing it stays elusive.

06

Gifts and conflicts of interest system

Situation

An organisation needed to know whether its gifts and conflicts of interest system was actually capturing the integrity and governance risks that mattered. They had no clear way to know if it was capturing the key risks.

Outcome

Using confidential industry case studies, we found the people most likely to receive risky gifts, then back-tested that pattern against the organisation’s own data. They were declaring them — the system was working.

Without us, the business doesn't know whether its risks are being properly managed.

Why it matters

Traditional audits rely on sampling because teams lack visibility. Breaksea Labs provides that visibility in advance.

You spend time on the issues that are most likely to be real, material, and worth investigating.
